Diagnostic and Prognostic Value of Myocardial Scintigraphy With Thallium-201 and Gallium-67 in Cardiac Sarcoidosis
The clinical usefulness of scintigraphy with thallium-201 ( 201 Tl) chloride injection was evaluated in 79 patients with suspected bone, soft tissue or mediastinal tumors. No abnormal changes of subjective or objective signs and clinical test values were o
Objectives To investigate the prognostic value of computed tomography (CT)-based AC thallium-201 (Tl-201) MPI. Methods A total of 108 consecutive patients who underwent Tl-201 MPI and received coronary angiography within 90 days were included. Medical records were reviewed and missing information was completed after telephone contact.
Of those, 64 (enchondroma n = 21, chondrosarcoma n = 43) underwent both Thallium-201 and Tc-99 m DMSA (V). Thallium-201 uptake had 7.92 times greater odds of grade 1 chondrosarcomas than enchondromas. Thallium-201 uptake was significantly associated with the odds of a higher grade chondrosarcoma (grade 2–3).
The aims are to delineate the normal uptake in thallium-201 (201 Tl) SPECT in each acquisition method and to compare the distribution between new and conventional protocol, especially in patients with normal imaging. Methods. Forty patients (eight women, mean age of 75 years) who underwent myocardial perfusion imaging were included in the study.
In the present study, 30 asymptomatic patients with mild to moderate hypertension with positive exercise electrocardiograms (ECG) or stress thallium-201 scintigrams underwent coronary angiography to determine the accuracy of these tests for coronary artery disease.
Seven men ranging in age from 35 to 63 years with a chest pain syndrome and cineangiographically documented systolic narrowing of the left anterior descending coronary artery underwent thallium-201 myocardial scintigraphy and gated cardiac blood pool imaging.
Background We aimed to determine the optimal thallium 201 chloride (thallium-201) dose using a novel ultrafast cardiac gamma camera with cadmium-zinc-telluride (CZT) solid-state semiconductor detectors (D-SPECT). Methods and Results The optimal thallium-201 dose for obtaining left ventricular (LV) myocardial counts was determined from a phantom study. Consecutive 292 patients underwent …
METHODS AND RESULTS: Eighty-two patients with previous myocardial infarction (>8 weeks) and echocardiographic evidence of LV dysfunction underwent thallium-201 rest-redistribution tomography and cardiac catheterization. During the follow-up period (mean 25 months) there were 18 cardiac events (14 deaths and 4 nonfatal myocardial infarctions).
Sixty young Taiwanese women with palpable breast masses detected by mammography and/or physical examinations underwent mammoscintigraphy with thallium-201 (Tl-201) single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) to assess its value for differentiating breast masses. The results showed that 42 of the 45 cases of breast carcinoma were detected ...
To assess the diagnostic value of indium-111 antimyosin for detecting right ventricular (RV) wall acute infarction, 30 patients with electrocardiographic-documented left ventricular inferior (posterior) wall acute myocardial infarction underwent simultaneous dual isotope indium-111 antimyosin and thallium-201 single-photon emission computed ...
cranial head and neck underwent thallium-201 SPECT imaging and contrast-enhanced CT. A neuroradiologist and nuclear medicine physician with knowledge of the primary site evaluated all thallium-201 studies for abnormal radiotracer uptake at the primary site. These results were correlated with histologic findings and clinical follow-up in all ...
. Create. . Thallium-201 is the radioactive isotope of thallium with relative atomic mass 200.9708 and half-life of 72.912 hours. Thallium Tl-201 is under investigation in clinical trial NCT02697760 (The CZT Dynamic Myocardial Perfusion …
Defect size on myocardial tomograms was measured in 30 patients who underwent 2 separate studies, 1 with thallium-201 (TI-201), the other with technetium-99m-methoxyisobutyl isonitrile (MIBI). A group of 15 patients with myocardial infarction was studied at …
He received thallium 201 [dosage and route not stated] and underwent scintigraphy. Approximately 1 hour later, he developed sudden chest pain, followed by loss of consciousness and cardiopulmonary arrest. The man was intubated and monitored; ventricular fibrillation was observed. He was defibrillated and chest compressions were started.
Thallium-201 (201Tl) uptake and redistribution kinetics were examined in an open-chest canine preparation of occlusion and reperfusion. Seven dogs (group I) underwent 3 hr of sustained occlusion and received 1.5 mCi of 201Tl after 40 min of occlusion …
All patients underwent early exercise thallium-201 SPECT, follow-up predischarge car- diac catheterization, and equilibrium radionuclide ventric- ulography between 3 and 6 weeks after the acute event. None of the patients had a prior history of myocardial in- farction in the same coronary distribution. ...
To investigate the significance of Thallium-201 reverse redistribution in the subacute phase, 37 patients with AMI underwent Thallium-201 SPECT at rest a month after the onset. The patients were classified into three groups visually and 19 of 37 patients (51%) showed the persistent defect pattern (Group PD), and the remaining 18 patients (49% ...
Twenty patients underwent myocardial imaging with Thallium-201 (201Tl) before and subsequent to coronary artery bypass grafting. All patients had rest and maximal treadmill exercise imaging postoperatively. Eleven of the 20 patients had rest and exercise 201Tl images preoperatively; 9/20 …
The prognostic value of thallium-201 imaging in patients with unstable angina is not well established. Forty consecutive patients with unstable angina who had responded to medical therapy underwent predischarge symptom-limited exercise testing and 39 of them underwent exercise thallium-201 imaging, on average 3 days after the exercise test.
Thallium-201 Brain SPECT. Thallium-201 imaging was performed 0–11 days (mean, 4.3 days) after brain CT or MR imaging. Brain SPECT was obtained 30 minutes after intravenous injection of 5 mCi (185 MBq) of thallium-201 by using a low-energy, general-purpose parallel-hole collimator, 360° circular orbit, and 15 seconds per stop for a total of 128 stops on a single head camera or 64 stops per ...

All patients underwent thallium-201 scintigraphy and coronary angiography at a mean (+/- standard deviation) of 4.3 +/- 3.1 weeks before and 7.5 +/- 1.6 weeks after surgery. Thallium uptake and washout were computer-quantified and each of six segments was defined as normal, showing total or partial redistribution or a persistent defect.
Eighty-two patients with previous myocardial infarction (>8 weeks) and echocardiographic evidence of LV dysfunction underwent thallium-201 rest-redistribution tomography and cardiac catheterization. During the follow-up period (mean 25 months) there were 18 cardiac events (14 deaths and 4 nonfatal myocardial infarctions).
Patients also underwent DE (n=18) and rest-redistribution Tl(201) tomography (n=16) before revascularization. MCE was performed using continuous Optison infusion (12 to 16 cc/h) with intermittent pulse inversion harmonics and incremental triggering (1:1 to 1:8).
The myocardial uptake and redistribution in thallium scintigraphy and the regional wall motion by echocardiography were evaluated by a semi-quantitative method in 42 patients who previously had myocardial infarction (50 target vessels) and underwent coronary revascularization. The aim of this study was to elucidate the significance of the initial image, delayed image and redistribution on ...
Defect size on myocardial tomograms was measured in 30 patients who underwent 2 separate studies, 1 with thallium-201 (TI-201), the other with technetium-99m-methoxyisobutyl isonitrile (MIBI). A group of 15 patients with myocardial infarction was studied at rest and received both tracers on the same day. The other 15 patients had documented coronary artery disease.
