The results not only reveal large deposits and changes in production, Nigeria's mineral deposits showed continual growth much of the time despite a few declines. From a -16.98% drop in 2010-2011, aluminium deposits rose by 22.64-63.08% in 2008 to 2009 and the other years.
Ihioma coal deposits in Imo state, Nigeria was performed using proximate and ultimate analyses. XRD and ICP-AES were used to characterize the coal samples for potential energy utilization. Proximate analyse determined fixed carbon content and volatile matter to be 51.5% and 38.5% respectively, an indication of a good coking material. Learn More
Mineral resources are essential natural occurring materials or commodity found on or in the earth in such small amounts which are mined for their potential uses or their intrinsic values. Mineral resources in Nigeria are extremely available because there are many ways of classifying them.
Tourmaline is found in some states in Nigeria, but one state with vast deposits of it is Jigawa state. Nigeria as a nation can gross billions of naira, should this solid mineral be considered and mined effectively. Some of the major sources of tourmaline are schist, marble, and granite pegmatite.
